While the simple concept of "playing back" audio and MIDI can be applied to any DAW, the Playback PROgram only teaches you how to run playback using Ableton Live, which is the industry-standard software for live playback.

If you're already confident in another DAW-- congrats! You already know one DAW. Learning another will be easier than learning the first.

Remember, Ableton Live is just another DAW, just like Pro Tools or Logic. Yes it has unique features that make it suited for live playback, but those are the ONLY parts about Ableton that will be new to you. So you're already 80% of the way there! And I'll show you the other 20%

• Building sessions that are truly road‑ready
• Editing how artists, MDs, and worship leaders actually want
• Designing rigs that make sense for your band and venues, instead of copying someone else’s

You wont be just randomly changing a tempo for the 100th time. You’ll be practicing like a pro.

Currently, the Playback PROgram teaches you how to control Ableton with MIDI devices and gives you a thorough understanding of MIDI messages & routing, but it does not yet cover the specifics of controlling external MIDI devices with Ableton or using timecode.

I plan to add these concepts in a future version of the Playback PROgram.

The Playback PROgram gives you a comprehensive understanding of MIDI messages and MIDI routing, which is the foundation you need to master before controlling lights or ProPresenter with Ableton.

However, programming lights and ProPresenter are not necessarily playback skills, therefore the Playback PROgram does not address them.
